My name is Max Bennett. I’m a digital marketing professional living in Malta (the tiny Mediterranean island). I grew up in Bend, Oregon and I love claiming it as my hometown.

I attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA and received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in May, 2009. I admit, at times it was difficult to study.

In June, 2009 I was hired by HomeAway.com and quickly climbed my way up to the International SEO Analyst position to lead our SEO strategy and efforts in the Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil markets.
Feb 2012 – Jul 2015 | Ogilvy & Mather (Global Strategies) in Bend, Oregon
The three years I spent in Austin, TX were incredible; I loved it but I missed the mountains and my family. In February, 2012 I was offered an incredible opportunity to work for Global Strategies in Bend as an SEO Strategist. (Global Strategies aka GSI is a subsidiary of Ogilvy & Mather). I was blessed to work with and learn from some of the pioneers of SEO. GSI is a world-class, Enterprise SEO consulting agency and I am so proud to be an alumni.
Jul 2015 – Feb 2017 | Vacasa.com in Portland, Oregon
In July 2015 I was offered a new challenge in my career to be the SEO Manager for Vacasa, an exciting start-up in the vacation rental industry. Vacasa was ranked the #1 fastest growing company in Oregon in 2014 by Portland Business Journal and the #9 fastest growing privately-held company in the country by Inc.com. During my time in Portland, I dated and got engaged to the love of my life and we decided to uproot and travel Europe.
Apr 2017 – present | Betsson.com in Malta (Europe)
In April, 2017, my (now) fiancé and I moved to sunny Malta! I accepted a new job as the Senior SEO Manager at Betsson, a leader in the iGaming industry and the 2nd largest employer in Malta. I now manage an in-house team of 16 SEO Managers and Specialists. The team represents 14 nationalities, including myself as the only American. We optimize 14 unique brands in 15 markets across Europe, South America and Central Asia. It’s a very exciting, new challenge plus the experience of a lifetime to work alongside so many perspectives and cultures.
More About Me
In my free time I enjoy sports, fishing, camping, current affairs, foreign languages and spending time with family and friends. These days, after work we sometimes go for a swim after work in the Mediterranean. On the weekends we like to explore the history of Malta or travel somewhere new in Europe. We try to not take a single day for granted.
